        Ringstead Fly Fishery
        week 9/7/12 to 15/7/12

The influx of the recent and continuing rainfall has put some colour into the water and has meant fishing has been more challenging this week. However the fish continue to feed in the top layers with a diet of the prolific damsel nymphs in the water at this time.Anglers that have fished near the surface have been the most successful with patterns such as Damsel Nymphs,Fritz Damsels,PTN,CDCs,GRHE,Hoppers,Shipmans.A reduction in hook sizes have accounted fot more takes.
Prospects look good as the water clears and with the weather forecast showing signs of changing back to summer.

To coincide with the forthcoming school summer holidays a special day ticket can now be purchased at the fishery for £7.50[2 fish limit+c&r]for all anglers under 16 yrs of age.
It is also proposed to hold a competition for all fly anglers under 16 yrs of age at the end of the school holidays with prizes being awarded to successful competitors.Sponsors are being sought for this competition as well as adults being in attendance during the day. Those wishing to enter and attending adults please register your interest with Paul[07788 426369/[email protected]].
