As reported last week fishing has been much improved considerably this week due to the cooler conditions and banks and boats alike have been doing well as the fish have moved out of the deeper water to all areas around the lake.
Pick of the catches this week has been Edward Telfer of Wellingborough who caught the best rainbow at 4lb 8oz on a PTN[UV Thorax][photo attached] from the bank.A number of anglers have this week taken their limit catches from the boats and the morning sessions have proved more successful than the afternoons.Mr Max and son had 14 rainbows on Sunday mainly on black buzzers and green and white lures.Anglers are reminded that evening tickets are now available from 12 noon from the 1st September.
Good hatches of sedge and caddis on warmer days are keeping the fish in the upper layers and patterns doing well are PTN[UV],GRHE,Diawl Bach,Hoppers,Black Buzzer[UV].
Plenty of fish from 2lb to 4lb being taken by bank anglers along the sandbank and lodge areas.Catches still averaging 3 fish per angler on the better days with the average weight still 2lb.Weekly stocking continuing.
