It looks like we are starting to get better fishing weather, large buzzers continue to catch, olives are coming off and I saw a lot of hawthorn flies, but no one appears to be fishing the dry fly. We are also still weed free and gin clear, the fish are in tiptop condition having fed all spring.
Fish of the week goes to Simon Fielding from Rushden caught yesterday on a black buzzer a Rainbow of 12lb 12oz. Simon went through a golden period catching four nice trout in the bay were we keep the weed cutting boats before a lull in the action got him his big fish. Well done Simon a great reward for sticking with the fishery learning new skills resulting a great day.
Other areas that are fishing are the middle for the boats, lodge bank and the deeps are now producing fish.
Oh and by the way, Simon’s trout was checked for the tag but was tag less. Therefore, the tag fish remains unclaimed and the prize is well over £700.
