hi chaps my aim this year is to catch a 2lb roach from the west sussex area lakes or rivers any ideas would be greatly received

I believe there’s a lake near Fareham (East Hants) that offers a good chance; not an easy task at the moment as even many waters famed for 2lb roach are producing very few of that size. Further afield there may be other opportunities. Two years ago I was writing a book about big roach (titled ‘Big Roach’ see Amazon) and many very experienced anglers, often with totals of 2lb+ roach in the hundreds, were all saying the same thing, and unfortunately things are not improving.

Just remembered the water – River Farm Fishery near Fareham. What the current form is I don’t know.

I do know that Britford on the Avon just below Salisbury – LAA water, tickets on bank – has produced some 2lb+ roach this season due in part to high water levels, always a very tough proposition when it’s low.
