              what pole is it for?
if it is on here http://www.fishingspares.co.uk then print the page and send it off to them as proof of cost.

I’ve already sent them proof of cost, with the initial form. they now want the item and proof of purchse!

I would give up as there is too much hassle and just buy a new section if you can.

I would explain that you bought it second hand and therefore do not have a receipt, You used their services and assuming a certain amount of insurance was provided in the postage costs, I cannot see why they need a receipt.~think

They need a receipt to determine the true value of the damaged item.

Alex, I have sent you a pm

If he had a receipt for the whole pole, how does that help them with the cost of an individual section?

It might help prove he is claiming for a section for that pole hence why he needs a receipt.

I would also forward a quote for the replacing that section from an approved tackle dealer on letter head paper

If he didn’t have a receipt he could claim for the most expensive section.

I sold 2 rods on eBay a few years back and the PO smashed them both, despite them being in stiff tubes and marked FRAGILE…! Best advice is: DON’T USE ROYAL MAIL for delicate objects – use a courier with insurance cover. I can recommend UPS, especially now the PO won’t touch anything over 15 metres…the P.O. is now run by idiots and employs idiots…(apologies to any posties out there, but I used to be one myself and I know how far downhill it’s gone!)

And remember – never put off till tomorrow something you can do today – ‘cos if you do it today and enjoy it, you can do it again tomorrow!

Of course that was meant to be 1.5 metres…
