Although its not exactly the time of year for it, we are trying to promote our staff angling club. You don’t have to be a member of staff to join!

We have two lakes in Hassop, which can be found at:

        http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?x=422435&y=372434&z=120&sv=Hassop&st=3&tl=Map+of+Hassop,+Derbyshire+%5BTown%5D&searchp=ids.srf&mapp=map.srf

The lakes south west of Hassop, just north of Park Farm.

They are very traditional estate lakes and stocked with roach, bream, tench and perch and the place is very quiet. This is not a venue for 100lb carp bags fishing from your car door. Its a bit more magical than that.

A bit more information can be found at our website (under development) at http://www.susacathassop.org.uk/

Subscriptions are £50 per year (waged) and there’s a £5 joining fee, which acts as a deposit on the key to the estate.

Anybody interested can contact via this site or use the link from the website

This takes me back….I was a member of this club years ago – had some cracking days on the lakes at hassop, really secluded lakes with some proper tench and slabs in them.

There also used to be a farm pond in Old Whit (Glasshouse lane?) that had some real surprises in it.

Superb venues that are obviously now accessible to the general public to enjoy, if you want a break from matches or enjoy fishing established, secluded venues this club represents great value.
