Again it was a very close result nobody knowing who had won till the weigh in. In top spot Nigel Shipman fished the pole and paste for 2 hours with no result but a change to the pellet on the same line brought instant results landing over 20 carp biggest being a 12lb specimen. 3oz behind Andy Lakey caught all his fish on the pole and paste at peg 34 fishing out at 6m and down the margin late in the match he landed 16 carp – 8lb

Dave Round on peg 40, came out top fishing the method feeder and pellet cast the lily pads catching all match he landed 54lb 1oz of carp – 5lb. John Wooff finished 2nd at peg 53 he had 25lb of skimmers and Ide on the pole and red maggot with the rest of his 39lb 1oz being made up of 3 carp – 7lb caught on pole and corn fished down the margin late in the match.

A very hot flat calm day and the carp spawning was the makings of an hard days fishing. Drawn at peg 20 in the bay Dave fished a small method feeder and 8mm pellet on the hook cast tight to the reeds, catching best in the last half of the match he landed carp – 5lb finishing with 79lb 9oz. 2nd placed Neil Wilkinson fished the pole and paste short at 5m on peg 27 landing 18 carp – 9lb most of which were also caught in the last half of the match.
