40 Anglers turned out for the MacMillan Charity match spread over both Sherwood and Maunside lakes.
Coming out on top was Ian Boyd with 52-02 of stockie carp all taken on long pole and pellet from Maunside peg 1. In 2nd place John Holmes jnr weighed 28-06 of carp and ide from peg 27 on Sherwood lake and close behind in 3rd was Dave Robson with 25-10 from Maunside.
The event was a great success with over 500 pounds being raised for the Charity, special thanks to Dale at Woodhouse Angling Centre, Sherwood Forest Fishery and all those that donated raffle prizes.

A very cold day which reflected in the weights. Mick drawing the end peg on the day 42 fished the pole and pellet on two lines at 11m feeding very little he landed 15 carp – 8lb, 9 in the first two hours then not a bite for two hours the 6 more in the last hour putting 65lb 8oz on the scales. In second place Nigel struggled for the first half the match fishing the pole and pellet out at 13m but when the carp turned up he landed 61lb 4oz the biggest going just 6lb.

A white over frost put paid to any big weights and the winner Ian was the only angler to catch any carp, drawn at peg 27 on the weed beds he fished the pole and pellet for 10 small carp and a handful of skimmers. The rest of the weights were of silvers caught on the pole and caster.
