Prospects looked good for the match but the water temp was still low at just over 3 degrees C. Mick drew peg 32 and fished pole and maggot for 12 roach – 1lb and later in the match changed to corn for 7 carp – 6lb being the only angler to make double figures and catch carp weighing in 33lb 2oz. 2nd placed Geoff fished pole and maggot for an all roach net and a total of 9lb 15oz

What a match this turned out to be not a carp in sight and the lowest weight was 5lb 8oz, but the top weight was 25lb 9oz of skimmers – 12oz all on the pole and pellet fished at 13m and 16m caught by Peg One Angling boss Lee Paying, feeding pellets at 13m and a 4mm pellet on the hook he caught all match following the fish out to 16m to keep in touch. 2nd went to Ian Boyd fishing the pole on two lines with caster and pellet he had a mixed net of roach and skimmers – 1lb in his total of 16lb 4oz
