Being a tad bored with the cold weather and looking forward to sunnier days (next week ?) I have convinced myself that the old margin pole needs to be updated (even though it gets very rarely used lol) so decided on the shimano beastmaster which i notice has it’s own puller bung facility, however with maybe heavier elastics such as red hydro purple and black going in the top kits maybe I’ll stick to a conventional bung, however I may set up a couple of kits with say white hydro and doubled 8 as an option i can see the elastigate system being worthwhile to set up on these elastics, anyone using the system on there beastmaster margin pole as I would be interested in your veiw and what elastics you are using it on, if steve reads the post what set ups do you recommend for the margin pole?

Hi Fred, to be honest i only use my margin pole for hit and hold work so it has red hydro set tight in it!!! Consequentially i dont then use the elastigate system. You are right though that if you wanted to use lighter elastics then it would be sock on.

Thanks for the reply steve I thought that may be the case, what a cracking idea it is for top kits though, more pole top kits should have this feature as pulla kits are definately worth a go and this cuts down the cost of such set ups.

              sorry to but in guys,
i’ve just bought a beastmaster 850b myself and i’m quite fancying having a go at the elastigate system in the match kit.

you should have got the relevant instructions when you purchased the pole plus 3 bushes, spool of cotton, nylon pulla and 3 carbon strips the instructions tell you where to drill what size drills to use etc, also it shows instructional pictures to ensure you fit the bush in the correct position, i’d nip back to where you bought the pole and ask for a set of instructions on how to carry out the procedure,it’s too involved to jot it all down and you need to follow the instructions to a t as shimano also state that they accept no liability for any damage to your pole due to non compliance with the mentioned instructions,as i said nip back and ask for the leaflet.
