        All,

        Can you help me please?

Have Silstar recently changed the packaging on their match team line, there appears to be two spool types on the market?

One has the Silstar match team photo on it and the other just the Silstar branding.

I have spools of both and have noted that the line on the spool with just the Silstar branding on it does not appear to be have been as well put on the spool as the spool with team photo on it, if that makes sense.

Is this the same line, or are there two different qualities of line on the market under the same brand.

        Thanks.

        WD

This is the only rig & hooklength line I use and have used for years, I have 3 types in my box The Silstar -the Silstar match taem and the WB Clarke match team god knows how old that is but the line is brilliant. Interestingly enough I just bought 10 spools of the net 2 weeks ago it was cheap and its spooled very badly it is Silstar I havent been done or anything 4 of the spools are connected together but I have noticed its spooled badly its very slack.

I’ve been fishing 0.12 hooklenghts all winter, I’ve never had a problem with it, landing fish to almost double figures and some half decent weights.

                  Thanks for the replies.

One well know tackle company advertises WB Clarke Match team line on ebay and then you receive a different different version of the Silstar line in the post, are we being hood winked?

I personally love this line and if you are breaking it then there is something wrong with your tackle set up. It is all about balance.

                  Cheers.

Nothing wrong with the set up, we were targetting big wild carp on the grand union and the line wasn’t up to the job several of us fished for them and we all changed from silstar to other brands, as soon as we did the number of breakages reduced dramatically it might have been when wb clarke took over or it may have been a bad batch but once bitten twice shy.

So a number of anglers all in a line were all using Silstar and you all got bust up and then you all changed and caught. Don’t tell me you all changed to Ultima and all picked up a brown envelope.
