  i’ve just bought a shimano beastmaster 850b
  margin pole.
  with the extension it’s 10 metres long.
  my mate had a call round last night with his
  10.6 metre yank n bank.
  to cut a long story short we had a i’ll show you mine
  and you show me yours competition an guess what?
  the yank n bank is a full 6 feet shorter ~think
  so all you guys who own one now know why you can’t
  reach that marginal bush etc.
  why do we put up with this

  Some top or the range poles are also shorter than their stated length, it’s not only margin poles.

  According to the Diawa website the Yang N Bank is only 10meters long with the 0.6m Dolly Butt fitted so I can’t see why you say it is 6ft shorter.
  Have you measured the Beastmaster.I think that mine is shorter than 8.50m or the top 2 is shorter than stated.

  had the two side by side last night mate the yank n bank is 6 feet shorter with the 0.6 metre section.
  i was under the impression that the y + b is touted as 10.6 metres long?

  dirkdiggler: I was quoting from the website.I have a copy of August 2009 Pole fishing mag and they measured it as 9.74m (with mini extension)total length of Pole as supplied, with a power kit fitted and Beastmaster as 8.54m so I know what you mean.
