        Match Report

The weather forecast for this event at Lakeview Fishery was for high winds and heavy rain showers with a low temperature of 11-13 C. The air temperature was right as was the high wind but fortunately the heavy rain did not materialise. The Harbour, River & Stream lakes are canal type fisheries ranging from 8-14 metres across and predominately stocked with carp, including F1s. These fisheries are generally fished using Long Pole, targeting the far bank, and down the near side. This match was fished as three different matches, paying the winners and second place on each lake. Harbour didn’t fish particularly well compared River & Stream, and probably all the weights were down on expectations due to the drop in the overnight air temperature.
The top weight on Harbour with 19-10-0 from peg 11 was regular Soldiers and Sailors angler Steve Wilcock. Steve did try fishing a bomb casting to the junction of the extension where pegs are 22-25 situated with no success and his winning method was persevering with pole and corn fishing the far side.
Second place on Harbour was taken by Stanton AC angler Johnathan Leivers with 17-2-0, who fished pole alternating between near and far bank using worm on the hook, and feeding casters to take 9 carp for his second place weight.
Some good weights were recorded on Stream, with a top weight (also top overall weight on the day) of 51-8-8 taken by Stanton AC angler Craig Logan. The successful method was long pole and pellet fished just down the shelf on the far bank. This lake included a string of good weights such as 47-7-0 which was taken by another Stanton AC angler I.Wooley for second place.
The same method was employed by Stanton AC angler C.Radford to catch 40-7-0 for top place on River, with second place weight taken by D.Gaetto with 38-8-0, also of Stanton AC.

Attached Photographs show the three lake winners, Steve Wilcock, Craig Logan and C Radford.
