No boat trips this weekend so I thought I might try a species hunt on Southsea Pier.
        Anything coming from there Ada?

A few years ago I fished another pier at Portsmouth that was only short and the access was through an archway in the stone wall
Do you know the name of this one and can it still fished?

Was at Victoria pier over a month ago. Loads of small wrasse and pout brought up on rag baited feathers, so should be some good bass around there.

I also had a chat over the phone with my mate Darren. He’s been fishing nearer the round tower, and pulled up two 9lb bass in the last week on garfish baits.

The Herring/Shad were very small Difficult to get a positive ID on them(The Garfish liked them though)

The Green Wrasse we have also had from Weymouth, I will send photos to Natural History Musuem to see if they can help.

Looking at the link above it was probably a Ballen we had at Southsea but the ones we were catching at Weymouth were more like this so perhaps the Global Warming is stonger than we think!!!
