Had some problems using b511’s at weekend, although never had them before thats made me reconsider my hook choice for squatt and punch.
        Whats everyone using???

        Cheers

Image IM1’s are ideal for squatt fishing, for Punch I normally go with the B511’s or Green Gammas depending on how many and what size of fish your catching.

Been looking at preston pr31’sbut heard mixed reports about preston hooks, some people love them and others hate them. Used to use im1’s but struggled to get some when i ran out and started using b511’s for all my small fish work. I’ll take a look at the fox mp1’s as well.

If you can source some Drennan Ultra Fine Pole then these are superb on hard days. IM-1’s are a ‘gaff’ in comparison! lol

PR31 I think are a good comprimise for strength and lightness although green Gama’s/PR30’s are equally good on very light elastics if having to fish barbless due to rules/conditions.

Is the Gama 6315 still available? That used to be my first choice bread punch hook when I fished the canals…. Many moons ago as you can see by my squatt recommendations! lol

I like long shank hooks for squatt fishing and use Image im1’s and Drennan super carbon canal’s ( which are now called Polemaster competitions. The drennan hook is the stronger of the two. I use the same hook for punch, as well as green gamakatsus. If you want a silver hook for punch, the gamakatsu allrounds look nice.

i was a b511 man but recently started using the sensas feeling hooks 3530 for squatt or the 3532 which is the same but red and then i use the the 3010 for punch or the 3405 if i can get it had no problems what so ever with them and they keep their points really well and if you are lazy they do both the 3010 and the 3530 as ready tied to 0.06 bottoms and i cant fault them either
