        Are people numheads or what???
        Lets call someone who hasnt achieved much at all a SUPERSTAR.
        It has came to my attention that the word superstar is thrown around far to loosely.
        A superstar is someone that has achieved top status in their chosen career/hobby, top pinnacle of the pyramid, people like tiger woods, madonna, federer, elvis etc, not the likes of someone who works for a magazine, or a bloke thats won a couple of fishing opens on the trot!!!
        Get real people, you’ll be calling a bloke who won a 2 day fishing festival ‘a legend’ next!!!!! 😡

            I don’t know to what you’re referring, but my favourite superstar was Kevin Kegan, when he fell off his bike. And that was before he played for/managed the geordies.

            But seriously, ‘superstar’? In fishing?

            There are people that are good, that stand head and shoulders above the rest in terms of results. But there’s no getting away from the fact that it’s only fishing.

                Its todays media, there is far too much of it, tv, radio, net, magazines etc etc. Journalists have to make it sound interesting and so resort to the sort of language to get us to sit up and take notice. Personally I am sick of it all and never buy papers or watch too much tv these days as its just drivel in the main that they punt out.
                Its hard to filter out the good stuff apart from on line, and there is not much of it.
                Dont even get me started on the so called celebrity stuff, page 3 girls never out the news and even writing books on their life what ever next??
                Who is shacking up with who, I dont care its not news!!
                If I want to know whats in the soaps I would watch it, I dont, so why is it a news item??
                The ball boy incident at the footy last week even made the main news????

                Even our own fishermans blues on Talk Sport which I rarely listen too is so boring that (as a mad keen angler) it sends me to sleep.

                  Chris, chill out its only a bit of fun. If you were a fish in my peg you would be first into the keepnet!!
                  I think there is a valid debate to be had about so called superstar and celebrity status.
                  I took your post for what it was and meant to check the picture last night when I got home.
