I used to soak them 24hrs in Bicarb. soda ,drain then boil in fresh water then leave in wrapped newpaper with a little sugar (but a wasp problem) and they got blacker.
But i will use tomorrow …..whats the other ways if i need to use them quickly tomorrow?

Funnily enough I have just cooked some. Just simmered in a pan of water for 10-15 mins, fridge for a while and they are ready to use. In the past I have dyed them black or red with food dye …

Nobody shoot me please but I’ve switched to the Dynamite baits tinned jobbies. No hassle, convenient, they stay on the hook, and, more importantly, Dee roach love ’em…

Just to add a couple of things to above, try letting them ferment for a while, they give off a sticky milky goo after a couple of days or freeze and thaw them and they are fantastic.
