The Thames team championship was fished by 18 teams of 6 on the Thames from Lechlade through to Tadpole bridge. With the recent rain the river had some much needed flow and colour. The fish wanted to feed but the very strong winds, mainly downstream, made presentation very difficult and this kept the weights down. On the team front it was very close but it put a new name on the magnificent team trophy.

1st Gerry Blunt – Browning Andover – 21lb 2oz. Gerry made most of a end peg at Lechlade and had a fine net of roach to 1lb and quality dace on the pole and maggot
2nd Adrian McTiffin – Devizes MG – 15lb 4oz. Adrian was also at Lechlade and had a similar net of roach on pole and maggot.
3rd Carl Eland – Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths – 12lb. Carl was at Radcot and had 2 chub, biggest 6lb, on waggler and maggot plus a few roach.
        4th John Swan – Radcot – 11lb 13oz.

        Teams

1st Drennan Banbury Gunsmiths -74. (Carl Eland, Mick Denton, John Beesley, Tony Hobbs, Tom Hobbs and Geoff Lewendon)
        2nd Diddys Bait-Tech – 71
        3rd Turners Black – 69
