Personally I thought it was a decent show and although there wasn’t that many true bargains it was well worth going. Good Faps magnetic hook boxes going for a quid and the usual bits and bobs we all need but my best bargain was a Rive ST competition(Not the cheaper club version) for £390. Plus I had a good power fitness hike back to North Camp rail station after my early morning lift was scuppered by a dodgy gearbox. But it’s all in a days work for a tackle tart.LOL,Anyone going tomorrow have a good day,

yeah i’m off tomorrow and on my shopping list are hook boxes, which company were selling them for a quid?

It’s all a haze but I’m pretty sure they were on a stand along the entry/exit row. There are bargains but they mostly need sniffing out because as usual there is lots of total tat and the talkangling stand was selling boxes of tubi 808’s etc!! for a quid and also 25 trabucco pole floats in plastic boxes for a tenner,

The seminars are the best bit of the show.
Bob Nudd, Mark Pollard, Andy kinder and Steve Ringer all giving great talks with genuine top tips!!
All that whilst the majority of anglers were walking round buying stuff they don’t need!!
I did some of that too ~shh

Have to agree the talk by Steve Ringer and Andy Kinder were well worth the visit.

95% Carp stuff – 5% match tackle. The Guru stand is worth a visit. People were waiting to pickup the Z9 on the pole stand.

i had a look and thought it was terrible,i have the match plus and i think i’ll stick with it,they did say these were the prototypes on show here but i wasn’t impressed, the new preston compact match looked good though.
Got a nice maver rubber keepnet with the metal rings on the outside so it wont wear out like my existing one has……………………..

I went today and enjoyed it thouroughly, last year I was on the Ultima stand and although I had a great two days chatting to all about Ultima line I didn’t get to see much of what else was on show, this year as a punter it was a really enjoyable day my thanks to Frank on the browning stand who took time to talk to me about the z9 and z7 and also showed me some of the new pulla kits that they are going to produce, a real eye opener as you can also tension the elastick and have it on a winder bung, also gave me some free browning towels which were greatly appreciated and will be put to good use, apart from that i bought some pva and a plunger as well as a few other bits and bobs, Ok it wasn’t great from a match angle but i think a bumped into most of the lads, spoke to the chinaman, keith ,Steve, alex , the spro lads, Gareth purnell and bollocked his cameraman who still hasn’t done much with the film footage he took with one of my 6lb + chub caught from the river lea, got mate potty a quid off a maver cool bag so a bargain at £13, thought I would try some of the hollow laccy supplied by steve maher at £6 a shot, yeh a nice couple of hours, considering the poor weather we have had over the last few months it was great to have a day out just chatting about our favorite hobby.

also chatted about the new package browning are going to offer on the z9 for those who want to go the extra mile

The crap that some of the stalls bring down, you can see by just looking at it, it’s been laying around collecting dust ~sick anyone with a bit of fishing knowlegde wouldn’t even bother looking at it or even thinking of buying it ~hand ~hand

I spoke to a guy yesterday who even getting rid of his Arity to buy one. whats this new package ? a free white cap with every pole cos browning must have some old stock of them they want to shift (((-;

Hi Paul, yes I had both poles up and compared both, my honest opinion I thought that the z7 was a stronger pole than the z9 and as the browning lads said they have used this for real heaviweight hauling on commercials, throwing everything at it and it still really performs, it’s the sort of pole you can throw around, through bushes bounce on concrete towpaths and still be in one piece, if accident prone this could be the pole to buy, mind it was very good at 13 & 14.5 stiffer than a lot at the same price, however i did feel another section on and it would go a bit in terms of stiffness, the z9 yes i am impressed, It was very very good and for a couple of extra hundred quid more than the 7 well worth the extra dosh, I was impressed the first time I held Pete Lemons pole at colemans, nothing has changed my veiw on the pole, for the money it’s a steal, at 16 it’s comfortably easy to fish with, super stiff and being so well balanced and easier to throw around, more than any pole I have ever handled, the new competition package is I beleive 17.5 metres- spare include 4th’s 10 power match kits and all the normal cupping kits mini ext (2) not sure if they said short 4ths, however a great package for around £2500 rsp however we may be able to broker a deal around the £2250 mark less or more depends on the retailer, comes with the normal luggage holdall, what surprised me was they throw a carryall in as well, may well be my next purchace, the wife said just go and buy it,
as for spares they will be continued for at least 5 years after the pole goes out of production it could be on the market for say 3 -5 years, so all sounds good, the trouble is orders are already outstripping production, this pole will put browning back on the map imo, obviously judging by the number of orders a lot agree with that veiw.

speaking to Frank thomas he tells me the Z range of poles were extensively field tested and improved to the extent that is was changed several times to produce a top product,i gather none of the sponserred anglers have had any breakages in normal fishing use, that I can beleive it is very robust imo

also my mate was told there may be a Z11
well what on earth is that going to be like?

Thank for the good info Fred. I went in my local shop yesterday and he wont give such a big discount now as to many people want the pole. He has got 3 coming and all are sold. my Z7 is like an old mate and i dont want to let it go.
