TF_baitchefParticipantI thought we would start the day with a nice cheerful post. So here goes. I once sold a Mitchel match and an ABU 501 for £4.00 each and a vintage handmade wooden box full of flies that must have had hundreds of man hours put in for a measly fiver. Don’t ask why, It was when I went off fishing.

TF_Dave Pelletdon’t do it hookpulledagain, you’ll definately regret it especially when the summer comes
I had a break from fishing when I discovered beer, football & girlies (aged 17 thru to 26 ish) – the last 2 items I sold were my much treasured & hard-earned Abu 501 & a beautiful hand built 9’6″ Ernest Stamford threaded tip leger rod that I caught my first tench with
since then I’ve bought a variety of closed face reels from ebay, including the 501, 503, 506 & a lovely 506m (that’s the one I always wanted as a youth but could never afford)
still search ebay most days for the stamford leger rod, saw one once but it was part of a full kit & the seller wouldn’t split

TF_craigmI sold all my gear when i got a Vespa and started going on the scooter rallies up and down the country, spent most of the money on drugs, drink and women then wasted what was left. 18mths and a broken leg later the Vespa had been scrapped, I was lucky to be alive and had come through re-hab unscathed, then had to start buying it all again.
Happy Days

TF_OggyMy Mum and Dad used to run fund raising for a local blind school and I was helping set up a jumble sale one day when I was about 10 and came across a cane boat rod and a wooden centre pin reel for it. Dropped £2 in the box and took it home. It sat in the corner of my bedroom with all my other rods and never moved so after about 5 years I gave it to another jumble sale.
I’m sure I’ve seen articles in fishing mags etc showing the same reel selling for £100’s. :0(

TF_Team RattlerMy first Fizzy and any of the Katana’s i’ve owned.
A Mk3 golf estate which 10 years after selling is still a runner.
My first mitchell match which was used for everything and an olympic medium feeder rod together which caught my first double figure yorkshire barbel.
I’d happily buy any of them back but the only one i can locate is the feeder rod and my mate won’t sell even though he don’t use it. 🙁 -
