TF_redarmyThanks for everbody that turned out friday and saturday to get a full turn out of 60 anglers was superb considering the weather we have been experiencing over the last month. The fishing was hard and patchy as we thought it would be but there was some great nets of fish over the 2 days when you consider the temperatue, easterly winds and snow weve had.I would like to thank you all for making it a great 2 days especially friday night in the longshoot which you needed to see to believe the characters involved.I would also like to thank roy for the fishery and his generosity which enabled us to send a cheque to the angling trust for £600.I also would like to thank all the glebe lads who helped me over both days especially kev simms and andy williams your input was very much appreciated.
**Results of the match are as attached**
once again thanks to everyone turning out and the help from the glebe lads

TF_WendayHard fishing but still a top weekend, cheers RedArmy for organising this one and to everyone else involved. Glad to see this event still going strong and look forward to fishing next years already (bit later in the year if possible).
Still gutted I missed out on 2 section wins by 1 skimmer but that’s fishing 😮

AnonymousThanks John gis.
Big thanks to Redarmy (John) and his helpers for all the hard work that made this a very special 2 days.
Day 1 was very bad for me with a blank on peg 14 on pool 1. Freezing cold wind and I never had a bite. Not what i was looking for. Very little was caught around me but was thinking i might have not done it right as there are normally fish to be caught from every peg on the Glebe when i,ve fished it before!
Fantastic night at the Longshoot with a load of great lads cheared me up. Good food and plenty to drink and great company. Not laughed so much in a long time at some of the antics that went on. Canot wait for the video. Deano1, your a star, lol.
Day 2 and that freezing cold wind had gone! I drew peg 79 on pool 5. Redarmy had it the day before and told me he had caught a few. 19 small carp later on a bright pink floro dumbell mini boilie and the section win was mine. Something for the JPz believers to think about. (can see another thread on the subject, lol). 4 blanks on the lake and only 3 anglers catching showed just how tight the fish are shoaled up at the moment. Feel very sorry for those who never got on a peg with a few fish in it to catch.
Well-done to those who made the top of the leader board. Some great bags of fish for the few anglers who where drawn on the fish.

TF_BlobbyParticipantOn behalf of John Pearson, Ian Cox and myself, thanks John for organising this one. We’ll be there again next year if you’ll have us.
It was hard to say the least but John came 3rd overall and won the gay pairs, Coxy came 2nd in the gay pairs and I won b****r all so we had a bit of cash to share. On the plus side for me I see I came 17th which is a big improvement on last year.
I drew peg 27 on the first day and had 27lbs. 21lbs of skimmers a 5lbs carp and a smaller one all on the pole. Had loads of liners on the tip but just couldn’t get them to develop into proper bites.
Second day put my hand in the draw bag and pulled out 96, worst peg on the complex I was told. Blanked on day one. I was determined not to blank and was rewarded half an hour before the all out with a 1lb 12oz skimmer and because most of the lake had packed in early it gave me a 3rd in section woo hoo.
See you all again next year.

TF_GLEBE1Many thanks to John and the lads, fantastic weekend. Its a shame the weather knocked the sport, normally the last 3 members matches before the fishery closes see the weights shoot up as the fish spread out and have a chew, this year like many other venues the fish are still in winter mode.
I had 2 really contrasting days, sat on peg 1 Lake 1 next to Herbie on the first day with that north easterly blasting us. Managed to stay alive and win the lake with 82lb.
Drove over to the Longshoot for a couple of shandys Friday night and when I got home about 1am my sides were hurting I’d laughed that much!!!
Second day sat on 98 Lake 7 in the brilliant sunshine out of the wind, started on the feeder but noticed a few fish cruising and ended up waving 17.5m of pole around with a foot deep mugging rig picking fish off, won the lake and zone with 106lb.Tied on a perfect score,2 section wins with Jamie but was never going to beat his 159lb Uglies weight on the last day and ended up second in the festival, well happy with that and off the back of taking last weeks Winter League title on there it’s been a good couple of weeks fishing.
Roll on next year!! -

It’s not his drawing Joff the problem is the fish needed to be in more than 1 foot of water it was a touch early for ground bait down the margin     😀 😀 😮

TF_JohnHLooking at the pictures, Jamie’s day two weight came from the corner of Uglies furthest from lake 2 and facing Lake 1. The fish were in the same corner the week before under the ice so they clearly are not moving around much.

TF_redarmyit was the same peg that won friday john with 229lb

TF_JohnHI fished the other end thinking I would get away from the ice, which I expected to melt. It didn’t, and I never had a sniff all day. One angler fished just out from the corner ice and he had a few no one else had a bite.
We concluded that most of the fish were down in that corner under the ice.
I would normally have fished pretty’s but it was just about totally covered in ice.
Poor end of season for me. -
