I would look at your hooks first mate, i use the 10ft mini s for 1lb skimmers, up to 20 lb + carp, they handle everything.
Im using fox series 2 , cr1 s and guru circle hooks with no problem,i definately dont think the rod is too stiff.
Whenever i have a problem loosing fish i change hook patterns,£2 for hooks is cheaper than new rods.
I had 2 tourny 12/13 ft s i sold and bought 2 preston 11-6 mini power carp which were far more forgiving than the Daiwas. And the 10/11s i had a go with didnt feel right to me.

Hooks are ok,if your fishing short range method, say 5 mtrs ish, loosen your clutch off and let them run, no rod will land them all that close with the speed they hit the bait.
I fish a lot like that and use Daiwa caldia 3000 s with the clutch set loose and let them run out of the area, doesnt spook other feeding fish and dont get hook pulls.
Another thing to look at would be the baby shimano bait runners, 400dl i think.

Do you use the red tip or the yellow ? Red tip gives a softer rod , may be worth a look mate.

Yes I’m using the red tip and fishing 18-20meter to islands with a 30g preston inline method

Set up sounds ok, I use the same sort of set up with 15-25 gm drennan methods and dont have a problem. Only thing i can think of ,the feeder is bouncing on the line causing the hook to pull. Are you using the preston s sliding on to a quick change bead ?
If so get a couple of drennan 25gm which have a quick change bead that semi locks the feeder (still free running if you get snagged or broke ) But the feeder doesnt bounce on the bead. Only a couple of ££s a feeder. Better than hundreds on a new rod.

The best and favourite bit of kit i own ( like it even more than the new Airity pole i bought earlier this year and that is an awsome piece of kit) the rod does everything from skimmers to the odd double figure carp, you won t be dissapointed if you buy one total quality not cheap though.

Would echo what carpa22 said I love my tourneys had the prestons and didnt feel right. If i were catching 5-10lb fish every chuck then yes but for small skimmer to odd doubles then the daiwas are AWSOME imo. I just love the overall feel and quality.
