TF_boydieParticipantDoes anybody know if the power kits supplied with the standard original TP spares package are the CTK5 or CTK10’s and if there’s much of a difference between the two.
Cheers

TF_HillbillyYes they are CTK5 and yes the CTK10’s are nowhere near as good.

AnonymousThe match kits are in my opinion the best with number 1 removed. The carp kits are crap as suggested by others.

TF_boydieParticipantI’ve been using the match kits with the number1 removed for elastic up to grey hydro, will they take black hydro without any problems?
To be honest I didn’t think the power kits were too bad, but then again my previous pole was a Maver and their power kits weighed a ton.

TF_C.S.HParticipantSo if CK5’S and 10’s are crap and the only way forward is to use match top threes with No 1 removed, I presume purple hydro through these is OK?
I’ve recently smashed two power tops – originals supplied with the Tourney Pro using purple hydo.
I can’t imagine the match tops coping any better! -

TF_nick_the_2ndIve recently brought a Daiwa pole and have not use a power kit yet, just use the match kits with the number 1 taken out for everything!

I only use Big Bores and have never had one break.
Ive used Red Hydro, and 22+ solid set tight in extreme situations and the Big Bore kits cope easily.

TF_NathanWatsonJust match kits and use with 16 solid or Middy 18 – 20 solid.

TF_makergunta wasnt it the new multi bore’s that you had explode, not the old big bore’s?

tournament_proI wouldnt go heavier than black hydro on a match kit.
I’ve seen loads snapped with people using 17H etc, they just cant take it
The CTK 5s are ok, cut them back to same lenth as match kits and use double 10 or 12 and they are not as heavy and unbalanced as youd think
with red hydro etc they are shite

TF_guntasorry maker yes they were multi bores

TF_Mikey .J.The only Daiwa kits worth using are the match kits with the number 2’s bushed, all the other kits are far inferior!
I use my match kits with a 1m length of red hydro set super tight fishin for double figure fish every week and have never had one fail on me!
So as for they cant take it…..that is a load of nonsense!

TF_Col_WI have been using the generic match kits with the no.1 removed with Purple Hydro for last couple years, not problems or breakages to date!
