Just took delivery of the beast. However, 2 things have disappointed me. Firstly, you get a cupping kit, but no cups! Secondly, after taking out the no 1,s, & bushing the no 2,s, how come the multi bore kits are much longer. What would you do?

Sell the multi bore kits from what I’ve heard! Or try cutting them back to the same lenght as match tops.

firstly please do not cut back the multi bores it’s a great system where all you have to do is swap out the number 1 s with different elastics in them and they cost £12.99 instead of buying loads of topkits.
in use they feel like a somewhat lighter than normal powerkit.
i find them very good for everything except up in the water fishing when your better of with a match kit.
bear in mind although i own and use these on a regular basis this is only my point of view so also feel free to take the advice of other people who have heard this and heard that if you like

Can someone explain to me why a few inches in the length of the top kit makes so much difference??? You can always move the pole a bit further out or pull it back a bit.

Multi bores have too soft an action. It sounds a good idea but the top twos are cr*p carbon(you’ll notice them at 13m+). Sell them and get the standard kits and remove the no.1

A couple of inch difference on your kits doesnt make a lot of difference, people are just too particular these days, after saying that, all mine are the same length, but it wouldnt really bother me if they were an inch or two apart, i think it really matters when silvers are your quarry, canals etc.

It makes all the difference IMO, maybe half an inch here or there is ok…given that no top 3 seems spot on the same length even with the number one removed. There’s always the odd deviation. But, if your cupping kit and all top kits are spot on the same length then you always know you’re fishing over your feed. Escpecially in winter it’s crucial.

The only thing I have yet to get is why, given we all cut our poles back or remove the number one sections, manufacturers have not cottoned on to either providing shorter cupping kits, or cup adaptors that will actually fit over the increase tip size once you’ve cut the cup kit back. Seems crackers, as cutting and telescoping your cup kit, or messing about with araldite to glue the adaptor in, is just a pain in the butt.

I just use the match top 3 with the no.1 removed on my Pro-X for carp. My light silvers kits (max 5 elastic)have the no.1 fitted, cut well back and so are about 1ft longer. This is not an issue for me as I would not be fishing with these over the same line as my carp kit.

I haven’t bothered even trying the new muti bore kits supplied as I am happy with my current set up and have plenty top kits already from my previous pole.

How do you know there crap carbon just by looking at them is it the grey colour and slightly transparent look to the number 2 section?
Reason is i recently purchased an old stock daiwa spectron power at a good price , but i suspect these poles were in the main made up from spare sections from the factory reason i say this is the number 1 and two sections supplied looked suspiciously like they were not of the premium carbon expected with this model.
These sections ie the number 2s were greyish and had sort of translucent patches in the carbon cloth.
Might be wrong but the number one sections also looked a bit suss they seemed a lot narrower in the bore compared to the ones on my g8.
And before anyone says i am comparing the match kits from both poles not the long top one power kits.

im not to impressed with these multi bores either i recon they should just provide match kits there strong enough for everything

Ditto the multi bores are crap. Can’t beat the match kits. I use red hydro in mine lol and not had a problem landing beasts on them.

Sell them and get some more match kits.
