Drove over the Trent on the A1 at Muskham for the first time in ages and it brought back memories of yesteryear, I really used to like fishing there, how does it fish these days? I remember club trips every other sunday to the Trent on the coach, great times, good craic, proper fishing, what happened? All I seem to do now is sit round a puddle in a speed fishing contest!~think ~think

Have spent many happy hours chucking feeders across to the sunken barge just before where the trent and newark dyke re-join as one.Must be one of the snaggiest pegs anywhere, but when you got a fish there it was usually a good un. Cut my teeth as a youngster on the trent fishing tidal(laughterton, dunham bridge, high marnham, girton, sutton, ness farm, walt bowers place where they did the television matches???,collingham.)Had to fish them as brother was driving and if it did’nt flow he would’nt fish it.Then when i passed my test it was non tidal for me hoveringham, hazelford ferry, clifton bridge, cowick and my all time favourite rolleston with the never to be crossed mr.ernie jolley, god he was scary. Just writing the names down brings back so many happy memories of places and people, some sadly no longer with us.
