TF_vicci5can anyone recommend a way to attach a second hook length close to the feeder when fishing the tip for roach and skimmers, tried it today by attaching my long hook length to the mainline via loop to loop and then attaching the short(3ins) hook length with another loop to the loop in the long hook length. The rig was fished paternoster style with the short hook length connected 6ins below the feeder,i caught roach and perch on both the long and the short tails but felt the presentation could have been better, and suggestions anyone????

Anonymoustry the small korum quickchange bead and have it inline instead of patternostrer, that way you can have the top hook 6inch from the feeder if you want,it’s hard to do that with the paternoster without any tangling

Merce1Whatever knot you use it will tangle. Most important thing is to use different diameter hooklengths. For example, 0.10mm and 0.12mm hooklengths will tangle much less than if both the same diameter.
Dont worry too much about the tangling – as long as they are only twizzled up (rather than completely tangled) you will still attract bites. Point (bottom) hook outscores shorter hook two-to-one in my experience (on Weaver).

TF_JohnHUse a three turn water knot. Simply lay the two pieces of line together and form a loop with both pieces. Thread the ends through 3 times, moisten and tighten. Its better if you use the tag pointing back to the lead rather than the other hook for the second hook as it angles away from the main line. Use a very short tag end for the hook, about 1 inch is possible if you practice. The shorter length is stiffer and less likely to loop over itself.

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantStart with one hooklength tie a knot halfway down the hooklength, lassoo the second hooklength behind the knot simple.

TF_redarmywhat i do is tie a hooklength about 4ft long on to the line tie on my choice of the top hook,i then fold the hooklength back on itself and hold the line with about 4inches of line including the hook pointing up the line and in the position i want the top hook.tie this off in a double overhand loop so you now have a knot and about a 4inch hook link hanging down.you now also have a large loop in the original hooklength ,cut this just under the knot you have tied and you now have about 3 ft of the hooklength hanging down tie another hook on the line where you require and away you go.
