AlexParticipantDoes anyone have one of these, the black one? I bought one a few weeks ago off their ebay shop for £25 as it was ex-demo. Its a decent bit of kit the only problem being the screws dont hold the legs tight enough and the platform slips down the legs easily even when fully tightened. Clearly it doesnt do what its designed for, and is dangerous to say the least! I emailed ultimate about this problem who said probably the wrong screws had been sent and that they would send some more. The screws are definitley the correct ones, it is just a fault in the design that the legs dont grip properly. I said they were welcome to send me some new screws to see if it resolved the problem, and never received anything or heard from them again. Id be interested to see if others have had the same problem.

TF_hempmasterLuckily I had some aftermarket fox legs with me when trying to secure the legs in a margin swim for one of my lads as the original ones will not grip. Its the paint finish and the grooves that run along the length reducing the contact area i think.Platform is light enough and cheap enough compared to fox etc but no bungee hooks and need to get alternative legs reduce the positives a tad.
Try square legs off preston kit or similiar bud, plain flatside and matt finish should help as long as internal sliding securing plate inside corner guides are not gloss painted as well ? -

TF_GUS EI came of my platform once due to leg slipping broke no 9 section of me pole, went to work on monday morning and drilled 8mm holes at 12mm centers down one side of all 6 legs, the locking screw goes through the hole and locks up on the inside of leg job done.

AlexParticipantwhat ive come up with is putting a preston off box attatchment under each leg, luckily i had some which i dont use. I just slide them up under the leg bracket and tighten them up as well as the platform screws, it holds fine then. Im still not impressed though because how can it be sold as a platform if it wont possibly hold any weight?

LawrenceI was going to get one of these myself, however after reading this I am a bit put off.
Has anyone else had problems with this?
Also, has anyone had a positive experience with this platform?

Snowbee1111My mate had the same problem with the legs slipping, so he tightened one of the screws a little more and smashed the plastic fitting! He’s had to make metal fittings to use the platform. Wouldn’t recommend one.

LawrenceI have had a look at the Dick Clegg one, however £250 is well out of my budget.
Can anyone recommend anything around the £100 mark that will fit a Preston On Box?
Thanks,
Lawrence

TF_Fisherman-NLI have a riverrock platform for sale by matchcraft. This is the platform Alan Scotthorne used to use. I want 125 pounds for it. I comes with a trolley kit.
