Yeah, 8mm for either bomb, wag or long pole depending on wind direction/strength. If using the pole, set up a depth rig as well, ’cause they don’t always come very shallow.
Most swims are about 7′ max, probably 5′ on long pole.
You need to feed plenty to get a response, say a dozen pellets every 30 seconds, then cut it back once they’re in front to make them compete. If the bites stop, give them a blast of a dozen again.
On Campbell, if you have a heavily reeded margin, fish long with 8mm pellets looking for tench and big skimmers.
There are regular tench nets pushing the ton. Some days that is enough to win.
Carp may come down the edge as well, so gear up sensibly.
