  A mate of mine was fishing off of selsey a couple of weeks ago in the evening feathering for mackrel, had a good tug and brought in a fish he didnt recognise, he took a photo which he is going to send me, but he described it as follows :-
  Same shape as a Bream but different fins, and no stripes, but had a thin black pencil line running from the eye upto the dorsal fin. He showed the photo to a couple of skippers who had no idea what it was, he also released it, so over to you !!

  Looks like an almaco jack, we get them over here but the body a bit more slender. It is of the AJ family, I would have said a greater anberjack but the tail of the AJ has some sort of ‘keel’ like marking on the tail which in the pic doesn’t have. Got to say Almaco!

  Redgill/Ada – I’ve sent a request to the Nat His Museum today with a link to your photo to see if they can ID it accrately – Got a feeling you have to pay for the privilige(!)but I’ll let you know if/when they reply !

  Just had the time to browse through the list. I see there are min qualifying weights like another well known organisation.
