I rejoined the club site the other day after my last subs ran out getting on for 18 months ago. I was lured back by the now £5 subs, and the promise of the extensive archive of magazines articles.

I have to say the first time I logged on to the site I was very disappointed, none of the magazines seem to have been updated sine July 2008, and there have not been very many posts at all since the start of this year, my PM inbox was full of spam, and for some reason the site will not allow me to either reply to posts or start new ones.

I can understand why there are not many posts on the site if other people are unable to post as well. I hope this is just a minor glitch that will be sorted out soon.

The vbulletin software was updated on Tuesday by Neptune, and since then IE8 hasn’t worked on the site. Please use Firefox while Neptune sorts this out. I have posted this on the club forum on here and on the club site, plus broadcast it in the newsletter. If you are looking for a busy forum, stay on here Neil. The club is all about people who want to fish events (like the Glebe Festival, Nationals, World Series) really, plus you get a discount card that knocks you 10% off any purchase with Harrisons Tackle and a special offer with OnlineFishing.tv . Reference the articles, I haven’t worked for DHP for well over a year and no longer am able to use their articles. However, even when we were uploading them, hardly anyone ever looked at them.

Thanks Geeps, it’s a shame the club site is now very different to what it used to be two or three years ago, it used to be a very lively site back then. I think if I had known what the site had turned in to I would not have re-joined, as I can’t see me having the funds for the Glebe weekend ect.

But as I have re-joined, I hope the problem for people using EI8 will be solved soon.

            Many thanks.

Just had an email from Neptune, he says he thinks it’s the photo section that’s not compatible with Internet Explorer and the new software, so we will try getting rid of that. The new vbulletin was necessary because of the spams you mentioned.
Things change Neil, but we still raise a lot of money for charity and there are still benefits to joining that are worth far more than the £5 a year joining fee (less then 10p a week) aside from the chance to fish in the events mentioned.
