Which hooks for paste fishing ???

I seem to be pulling out of a lot of fish when paste fishing. Also when i land some fish the hook hasn’t penetrated the lip properly but looks to be just wedged behind the lip. I changed the hook regularly in case they were losing their point. I was using B911 in a size 12 but am wondering what everyone else uses as i feel these are not either sharp enough or are made of too heavy wire ??? I must have lost a good 30lb of fish off today which cost me the match as i was 10lb behind the winner. Any suggestions please.

Tubertini 175s are what you need. Very sharp and strong. You will land more fish with these hooks than anything else i have tried. Amazing hook holding power from these hooks and great shape for paste fishing!

if you do need to use a b911 then try a smaller hook
the bigger the hook the more they seem to open out i found!
if your fishing for animals then try the fox series2 hooks they just dont bend lol!

Fished paste sat was 2nd with 149 pound using b911 size 14 and same as you lost a few carp along the way but it was because i was fowl hooking them.Did you have a lot of fish in front of you most ocasions when you loose a lot it because of fowl hooking.

I wasn’t foul hooking them as the hook was pulling out as i was netting them. On quite a few when i landed them the hook hadn’t penetrated properly but seemed to be just nicked behind the lip. I changed my hook several times and the first few fish were hooked fine then it started again. It was as if they were going blunt very quickly. I don’t know if it was anything to do with keeping the hooklengths stored in a case where the hook is fixed in a foam strip ??
