which match reel

  i will be buying some new match reels soon and was wondering which to get i like the look of the daiwa td-r or the whisker and the shimano exage rear drag reels any help?

  In my view the TDRs are the best and most robust match reel on the market.

  swear by shimano i have had them for years. had the sahara versions but now use stardics rear drag cannot fault them.

  I bought a Whisker 3012 reel recently used it a few times and its awesome – is the TDR that much better for quite a lot more outlay???

  pretty unaminously TDRs I see, they are definately a great reel, but the Exage is also a great one and shouldn’t be overlooked, especially if you can get a good deal on it.

  daiwa reels are good,, ive had the 2503cu’s for some time now, but ive got shimano reels too and the shimano reels have easily aged better,,,they feel as smooth as the day i bought em!!!
  i like them to feel like there is a slight bit of tension on rtreival,, nice and tight,,, the shimano’s do that,, but the daiwa’s feel like your winding in fresh air,, a bit to slack,, but smooth all the same,,, drag system on front drag daiwa’s is the best drag!!!!
  ooooh i dont know now,,daiwa or shimano???????
