Hi, i am going to get a new reel soon, was wondering which one i should get for around the 60 quid mark. Will mainly be using it on commercials for bomb and feeder work. Then will probably buy a matching one for waggler work.

Like the look of the new shimano baby baitrunners, and the new shakespeare mach 3’s. anymore worth a look at?

        Thanks Ryan.

Daiwa Whisker,i’ve got a couple of 2508’s lovely little reels for the money.
Just got a 3012 off this site like new for £45 just for a bit of heavier pellet wag work.

Not as good as my stradics but half the price & worth every penny.

Ryan, for that sort of money see if you can get a Daiwa Exceler PLUS. Very good for the money and 7 BB’s.

I bought the procaster x 4000 when they first came out & they were £30.00 each. I couldnt understand how they managed to sell them so cheap as they really are a decent quality reel. I use the 4000 for feeder fishing and because they are a spinning reel they will handle any U.K situation. Very smooth and tons of power with a reasonable drag ( although there are one or two plastic components), a real animal of a reel that should give years of service. The 4000 is a bit heavy and a bit cumbersome for waggler fishing but still easily usable when compared to rear drag models such as the old Shimano Stradics, but they are perfect for feeder fishing. I have not seen the smaller models so dont know if they are any lighter/smaller but if they are, you could get a pair (one of each size) for £72.00 as fishermans friend are selling them for £36.00 each. I cant rate them highly enough for the money.
