A bit like women – seductively attractive. Fortunately nowhere near as expensive.

Its not just pole floats though is it. Stick floats are the worse, closely followed by wagglers.

I have BOXES of stick floats I will probably never use.

I went through a spell a while back of buying every John Allerton wire stem I could find on ebay. Then I found out I was in a ”bidding war” with Phil Stone (Pebisit) for the same floats.

Then we hatched a plan to swap what we’d bought…….

I think I collect them because I always wanted to buy more when I was a kid and could never afford them!!!

I remember when i was a kid, having a selection of wagglers and sticks in a crafted box meant you were important and a professional angler. Of course we were complete dreamers.

I’ve lost count of the amount of the original John Allerton Alloy stem stick floats (the dark blue ones)i’ve given away over the years, must have cost me a small fortune.
Sure i’ve still got some knockin about somewhere in the house aswell

i do ,do porcupine but mostly as wagglers or with bulbous cork bodies as bobbers

its not al;ways easy too get a consistant supply of 5-7″ porcupine quills ,i actually have about 30+ 9-11″ porcupine quills which as they are ,are useless ,which i’ll probably cut into incert wagglers.

i do have a website in the works ,that i’m working on ,just need too get some really good photo’s done of the verious floats i do ,hopefully have it completed by the end of the season ,with a good few floats in stock

Do you all do the same as me ? Sit at home admiring your new floats and then start to pull them down as though you’ve just had a bite , how daft is that? If its a stick float you have to hold it at an angle and pretend your holding it back.~think
