TF_endpegDave Harrell tells me the weigh in has been chaotic with lack of scales and broken scales etc. Welsh wonder Ian Hughes is on a section win too…

TF_JabjabTalk about hot off the press…..
Surprised about the scales issue – normally FIPS/CIPS are really spot on.

TF_geepsterParticipantWow – fantastic for the home nations.
Does anyone know if it was bleak or big fish in the main – i am guessing the latter? -

TF_fred van den feederspoke to one of my mates fishing in the swedish team. They target the big fish and got some good results. He got 5 carp, 3 barbel and a few catfish for 8.6kg. and a 7th in section on C section. C section was won by a belgium angler who got 12.8kg inkluding a carp over 5gk… A other member of the swedish team got 6 big carp(over 3 pound), 5 small carp and 1 barbel on A sektion, dont know how he ended up in the section but it must be a good weight.
Will know more later today. be back with a report.
Fred

TF_JabjabAre they still using the split sections format this year where you are not fishing against everyone?
-
26/06/2010 at 6:24 pm #108739
TF_fred van den feederjabjab, they are split in two. 16 on each section.
-
26/06/2010 at 7:16 pm #108743
TF_MarkTStupid question but how does the split section work differently from how it use too? Didn’t it cost them some medals last year?

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantIf Will doesn`t fish today who gets to fish instead ?
-
27/06/2010 at 8:50 am #108776
TF_geepsterParticipantI think it would be Stu Conroy.
I think that if an angler finishes worse than fifth in section and is last in the team, he makes way for the reserve. -
27/06/2010 at 8:53 am #108788
TF_geepsterParticipantThere’s a section by section, angler by angler breakdown of the first day of the world match fishing championships in Spain here:
-
27/06/2010 at 11:29 am #108800
TF_NW Cut AnglerHard to make opinions not knowing the pegs but Sean ashby appeared to have fished well. It certainly looks like the fish are congregated across certain pegs and that if you are not drawn in those areas you have your work cut out big time. The team result could still be very much up in the air IMO.
Good luck England
