Before the event Meatbasher. In fact we were broken into the night we got there – while we were asleep and out for the count following a 30 hour drive. The amount stolen came to the price of a house in Hungary – my camera equipment alone was getting on for ten grand’s worth. Loads of tackle went but the worst was that it included my Stax system with all my rigs, elastics, line, hooks etc. My carryall with all my trays, catties, nets, outriggers, reels, drill etc also went. One of the lads had a new pole he’d not even used yet nicked. Apparently tourists are fair game in Hungary. The English lads helped us out with the loan of some tackle to get us going. What really annoyed me is that no-one from FIPS or CIPS even bothered to come and talk to us about it, and still haven’t. The Bosnian’s were done after the first day of the match. They did crap, went out and got pisssed, left their gear in the car – and it was all gone in the morning.
