A pike just 5oz short of Roy Lewis’ long standing British pike record has been banked and is pictured in this week’s Angler’s Mail.

The 46lb 8oz fish was caught by predator angler Darren Clark from Wykeham Lakes near Scarborough, 3oz short of when it was landed in 2014 to make it the biggest ever caught from an English venue. Roy Lewis caught his pike at the now legendary Llandegfedd Reservoir.

The water itself is only fishable by syndicate members who will be very excited that it’s so close to the record in January. The big female will almost certainly pack on plenty of weight in the next six weeks.
