The re-arranged Sunderland Shore Angling Festival takes place on February 5th and 6th 2011 with £500 going to the winner.

The Sunderland City Council sponsored event, postponed in January due to extreme weather, will take place between South Shields Pier and the North side of Ryhope Dene. The pier and foundations are out of bounds but anglers may fish all public areas on both sides of the River Wear upstream of the A19 bridge.

Tickets at £10 each for all classes of this heaviest fish, Penn points competition are already available in local tackle shops.

The winner each day takes home £500, with £300 for second and £200 for third. There is an excellent supporting prize table worth over £2,000 each day.

Registration is at the Eastenders Social Club in High Street, Sunderland from 10am to 1pm with fishing each day for 1pm to 5pm and weigh in from 5.15pm to 6.15pm.
