Hot weather isn’t generally great for trout fishing and while the rod average at Packington Somers in the last week has suffered, Sutton Coldfield angler C Hawkins will be delighted with the 10lb 14oz rainbow he caught from the bank on Cocks Close.

The fish, the best of the week, fell for a black buzzer but there was also a fish of 10lb 10oz fooled by another Sutton angler, J Simpson. The fishery is holding an ‘Introduction To Fly Fishing’ on Saturday June 23rd in conjunction with Shakespeare fishing tackle.
