Without pushing any one pole because this then turns into the slanging match from TP to G10 to Absolute etc followers.

The best advice I would offer is, the Flagship poles are the Flagship poles, all are very good, go somewhere where you can pick them up and see what feels right for you.

You wouldn’t spend £2000 on a pole just because someone tells you to would you.

Pole choice is very much down to personal preference.

Nobody will argue with that statement, it’s a fact.

Wait and see how many replies you get on here, “get one of these” “no this is better” your head will be full of mince in no time.

If you have the money then go on your own instincts not someone elses.

Hi, i can recommend the Elite 47 as i have one myself, it would certainly cover all your needs as it comes with a carp pole aswell and all the sections interchange.

Certainly worth a waggle to see if it feels right for you.

If you live anywhere near Somerset we could maybe meet and you could have a waggle of mine so that you feel what one is like elasticated etc.

Personally if I was buying a pole for specifically rivers I’d look at one of the mid range models with good joints. The lighter, more fragile top of the range models are fine for commercials however when you take sand, dirt, bushes and uneven banks into the equation + possibly a spare top 5 or 6 a mid range pole starts to make a lot of sense, especially if you happen to drop a section in and need to replace it.

Id have to say the new Drennan Zircon it the dogs danglies, and the package it comes with is fantastic. Its as stiff if not stiffer than the pro and alot lighter.
