        Hi

I was going to fish the pellet waggler for the first time on friday on a local club water as the temperature has risen and the fish are up in the water.

ive got myself a drennen carp waggler rod and plan on loading the reel with 6lb line. ive also got some garbolino pellet floats – but what is the best way to set up the rig? do you fish straight through for strength or slightly less breaking strain for hook link?
Also, do you hair rig your pellets/band them/hook them or hair rig small boilies/meat etc….

Ive got some of the andy finley so pellets for the hookbaits and some carp pellets for feed.

        thanks

Jonesey – Only ever use UNLOADED wagglers on the pellet waggler. Ones I use include, Maver, KC Silverbacks & Drake. The best size of waggler to use is a waggler that you can punch out to where you want it to go without a major swoosh on the cast. It’s also important to feather the float down before it hits the water so that the pellet lands behind the float.
Personally I find a 4lb mainline best as it casts better, hooklengths anything 0.16 to 0.22 depending on size of fish your expecting to catch. Hair rigged pellet bands to attatch your pellet are good as are the lassoo but to start with just get used to it with a normal bait band on the hook. I find it best to feed 5-6 pellets cast the float over the top, bring it in after 10 seconds feed again and throw in over it again and just keep that going. Generally 8mm and 6mm pellets are best for this method.
            Tony
