  I have it on good authority that Essex County went out with a bang today winning the Evesham team match. Wayne Swinscoe won the match overall as well. No details as yet, all still in bar! But they beat Barnsley and Dorking in their last official match. Now invited for next year – will they fish?

  I’ve just been told that VDE won aint sure bout individual but also heard that shaky superteam came well out of it an now have to qualify for next year

  Good news for the Essex boys 🙂 Just for info, only the teams that finished 13th & 14th will have to try and requalify for next years team match. The top twelve teams on the day will automatically fish next year with this new format.

  Just seen the article Dave. I see that they got 1st and 2nd individuals as well and won by more than a point a man. What a way to go out.

  I’m glad that Peter is still backing you. It was he who rang me on Monday from Evesham to let me know the result and to find out how the match at the Water Park went. 44 turned up for the match which was won with over 70lb and he had record takings on Sunday there so all in all he had a good weekend.

  Waveney, we was all gutted to see the end of Essex,it was a good way to end an era.
  As far as i can make out,not one of the old members is going to join another team.Give it time we may re group,fingers crossed.

  was a very emotional end to an awesome era in match fishing history. even tho i did’nt fish this year it was great to see the boyz do the damage on the day. makes me proud to have been a small part in a historic team.
