I’m fishing the open at Blundells this weekend. I’ve never been before, the match is on Oak and Willow.

Anyone got any info? Depth’s, bait’s, stamp of fish etc…

if you go on the blundells website you can have a look back at the recent matches to see what the winning weights have been – and what pegs. not fished willow or oak myself; they are normally the pleasure lakes, as the matches are normally on the canals. i’d get there early and try and speak to people like ian martin or keith padmore or kerry kirkwood who normally frame what ever lake they are on!
p.s – dont fancy a travelling partner on sunday do you – i’m in ashton and looking for a match but dont drive! chris shaw

there are lots of silvers in both oak & willow. soft pellets and groundbait will bring them in. as a change try corn or cat meat.
                OAK
off 1, try to right to the tree
off 3, try to left just before the tree and also out in front at 10 metres
off 5 fish in front at 10-12 metres
off 6 7 or 8 fish to front and down sides

10 is out to lillies ate 13metres

12 is to left & right, 110 pound has won open from this

14 through to 22 are again out to about 10 – 12 metres

the last pegs can be good to both sides

                WILLOW
pegs on both sides of bridge will be hard so try out to about 10 metres

pegs in middle of right bank fish well out and upinthe water – could be caster over worm.

fish to whatever is on your peg, there are no bad pegs at blundells
                have a good time
