Sorry to say it- but I told you so!
The Burton town waters are fishing better SF, but it’s peggy.
I think the problem with the Trent this year, as with the Avon and some other rivers, is that the floods washed away much of the weed, and the relatively dry spell since has seen the waters lose all colour.
I had a match on the Derwent a week or so back, and it was a right grueller- 3-8 won, and I got third with 1-12! (mind you, we could have added at least a pound to the top 3 weights if we’d weighed in the trout!)
The Trent’s not much better further downstream, my recent match at Caythorpe wasn’t any better than the Derwent.
Strangely though, I hear the Embankment in the middle of Nottingham is fishing well- do you think fish might feel safefr in an urban environment when the water’s clear?
