TF_bagging machineParticipantDont believe there has been a pole made yet that can meet your requirements. £2000 buys you an excellent pole for fishing up in the water at 16m but it will be no good for dragging angry or foul hooked doubles from snags or those animals in Drayton, it will end in tears every time. A £1000 pole will be heavier/not as well balanced & not be as stiff at 16m and therefore not so good for fishing up in the water but it will be marginally stronger for margin work and would be classed as an allrounder but it has compromised stiffness and strength. An out and out carp pole will usually be cheaper still, unfishable at 16m, heavy, unbalanced but would allow you to drag from snags or fish Drayton. Then theres Margin poles, limited in length but usually very strong costing around £100. The choice is yours, if you come across one that will fish at 16m all day and is safe with 25 solid elastic with 12lb Maxima straight through then please let me know?

TF_don les 1039thanks bagging machine and tournament tom. most of my fishing is for match size carp 3-5lb with the odd bigger fish 8-10lb (if lucky) i was thinking along the lines of torny pro/preston 2g 10?

Peter1984garbolino super g10, will easily cope with everything you have mention don les 1039, but before making any decision try to handle the poles you are most interested in, as one mans mustard pole is anothers bane of life!

TOURNAMENT-TOMlets face it, if you spend 2 grand on a pole then its gonna be good, i spent a long time choosing my pole and tested all the flagship models before making a purchase, flagship poles are like women, they are all different in their own way, but great! see which one suits you best, not just strength but weight, balance, texture/finish etc….

TF_bagging machineParticipantWould you dare get a G10 out at Drayton? with strong hook & line and dare to put bait on? I wouldn’t

TF_baitchefParticipantYou could, but you would have to be out of your mind…or minted.

daiwadavidParticipantWhy ever not? I would get a torny pro out there all day long and not have an ounce of worry and if you wanna come and see it next summer your more than welcome

kenny1check the price of spare sections as well, one of the reasons i went for the t-pro over a G10 was the much higher price of replacement sections of prestons poles compared to Daiwa, saying that Ive had the pro for 2 years and not broken any yet! if the new tournament is any better than the old then would definetly go for that.

TF_PikeyKenny1 – When you bought your TP, the G10 wasn’t out and it’s Garbolino not Preston – isn’t theirs a GS10 ?
