speci & match, i understand the 2 pools are chalk & cheese, and require different tactics. cheers

yep! one of my fishing match group went there to fish one of the classic qualifiers, he was third overall fishing a waggler on the deck for skimmers on the speci lake and weighed over 80lb, whilst the winnerhad 128lb on the pellet waggler, and 2nd was 125lb, so as you say methods may vary a little, best thing to do is go and try a few different tactics before making your mind up, as there is no set way of fishing larford!

                yes there chalk and cheese
a lot of methods on speci can work ….the first 2 qualifers were on the speci lake 1st 1 was won by steve pierce with 125lb 6oz .worm caster dwn the edge off peg 10
                2nd 56lb 1oz peg 16
                3rd 49lb 14oz peg 1
                all caught dwn edge

2nd qualifer was won by steve mayo with 83lb 2oz he fished big wag and gb
                2nd was 64lb 14oz
                3rd was 42lb 1oz
method feeder works well on certain pegs as well as pole and wag

Sound likea really mixed venue, will these carp weights prevail over the silver weights all year at larford? , and hows the match lake fishing?

3rd qualifer was won by dave ruddman, 130lb on the pellet wag. 2nd was my purple hero with 128lb on the big was and groundbait. all these weight are shallow. i wouldnt think this will last very long as by ?##! its cold.

you can win on skimmers and big bream. only when the big bream have a go and the carp are not.

overall you will need carp to win as the big bream weights are not consistant.

(i found out the hard way last sun!!)
