yellow bungee.i use a 1/2 length of bungee and a long length of dacron and a winder bung,this way you can adjust the tension to suit the stamp of fish you are catching on the day.

you’ll cover everything with the following elastics :-

preston red 11h hollo
preston green 13h hollo
preston blue 15h hollo

White hydro then grey,

The scaled down line and hook size give me the answer as to which elastic to use. White hydro is the only elastic that i use and feel comfident about using on waters that hold fish from small F1s to 7lb+ lumps when i need to use lines as low as 0.10 with size 22 hooks in winter.

Had a very bad day. Drew end peg 99 on pool 3. A feast or fammine peg. Not the day to draw that peg. No liners and only 2 chub and a very small carp. Did not get another movement on the pole or tip. Angler next to me blanked! The carp seemed to be in the middle and towards the road end of the pools but pool 3 fished extreamly hard to finish any chances i had.

red angler, my answer to your question is still the same even though you are talking about two different circumstances. This is the way a lot of us fish from November until late March on most comercials where elastics are concerned.

f1’s, small carp = white hydro

carp 3-7lb = white/black

f1’s / small carp – white or grey hydro

carp 3-7lb – maver 12-20

white or grey hydro.you want loose a fish.

i use an 8 latex this time of year. Perfect for F1s and small carp. Just add a pull bung if fishing for larger carp.
