KingmanNever have I found it so hard to part with £2k.
Are Drennan keeping it secret, afraid if we touch it first we wont buy it?
Where in East Anglia can I look at one and failing that where can I buy one mail order?
google isnt much help.Thanks
Andy

AnonymousBest bet is to contact Drennan direct and ask them.
Either Richard Norris or Gary Barclay would help you out. -

TF_RMNDILAndy, it’s actually simple really. But, unfortunately, as it’s a big investment most shops won’t stock it but will buy to order. So, contact your local shop and ask them to call our agent for the area (in your case it should be Mr Julien Watson). Then a full sample with all kits will be dropped off at the shop, with no commitment to them, for you to look at. It might take 2 or 3 weeks (or it might be quicker)as it just depends upon when Mr Watson is next in the area. If you like it then a brand spanking new one will be sent out for you and Mr Watson will take the sample back next visit.

KingmanTried that. Asked my local shop – Birds Ipswich, to get one in for me about 8 weeks ago and have heard nothing. Probably their fault not your reps.
Given the money involved it just seems to me as a customer to be too hard to get hold of one.
If I choose to buy without trying, wheres best for mail order?

KingmanWhilst I have your attention, whats the finish like. My key gripe with my existing Daiwa Spectron is shipping when wet – very hard.

TF_Happy DanglerYou could try Bag-up.net on 01142 466670.
Not 100% sure they can get one for you but ask for Cleggy or Stavros from TF….

TF_RMNDILAndy, I’ve now spoken with Mr Watson who tells me he has had no such definite request. As the law of the sod goes, he was in Ipswich today ! If he is asked he can drop one in sometime next week.
Regarding surface finish, it’s a long time since i’ve handled a Spectron. But, if the surface is anything like a Tourny Pro then the Zircon is umpteen times smoother.
If you like it then it can be despatched pretty much straight away.

KingmanMay I just say thanks to Richard for his personal touch.
Its great to be able to talk direct to a supplier and builds up huge ammounts of goodwill. It also puts my tounge in cheek comments re: the supply of Zircons into perspective.
Now about that broken tip on my Matchpro Quiver!!
Thanks again

TF_slipperyIs the finish on the Zircon similar to the finish on the margin carp butt/netting section?.

Peter1984the finish in my opinion is second to none, ive handled just about all the finishes now, from suncore, sun ice, shimano super sanding, garbolinos ssp, daiwas, colmics etc etc and have to say when i picked up Nick lunds in salisbury and had a play with it in the damp it was truly awesome!

TF_RMNDILDarkhorse, that’s akin to asking ‘how long is a piece of string ?’. Some will use it for double figure fish without problems and others might make a mess of it when using it for silvers. It depends upon how it’s set it up and how YOU handle it. Same as anything.
Slippery, pretty close comparison but thinner coating.
Andy, cut it back to right in front of the next intermediate and, hey presto, at least you have a stronger/stiffer tip !!
