I know you are probably all well fed up with my pole deliberations but a new possibility has entered the mix. I can gret hold of an Elite 57 for £1975 with the full spares package including the 13m carp pole.

Not considered a Maver before because of bad press on here and other forums but given Spectron M2 is only 12 rated and the Zircon 16 rated, the Maver ought to compare well for strength and the price is ultra competitive.

        Thoughts appreciated.

        Cheers
        Andy

if the zircon is anything like you won’t be dissapointed. a good friend uses the zircon and he loves it.

Kingman, you will get varied opinions as there will always be people who love/hate Maver, love/hate Daiwa, love/hate Garbolino etc etc. What matters most is whether an item suits you.

It is very difficult to compare poles unless they are side by side and that is going to be extremely difficult considering the price bracket you are looking within and the number of possibilities. You can easily fool yourself into thinking something is better/worse than the previous model you looked at days earlier etc. So, all I think you can do is judge for yourself whether something feels right.

I would think you’re searching within a price bracket where you can’t actually get a ‘bad’ pole. Good luck.

why don’t you save a bit of cash and get an old maver pole say n57 lets face it a top of the range 2006 model isnt gonna be far off the pace . plus i’v got an old m47 and can still get all tops sections and spairs needed. think this new model every five minits bit of a marketing ploy personally …

                  Kingman.

I have an N57 gold package, (includes the carp pole) with lots of spares, in mint condition, that I’d be willing to let go for £1250, (no offers).

I did break the No 7 section clean in half when I dropped the pole off the roller, holding the No 7 section with 14.5m behind me, however it has been professionally repaired and is as good as new and still fits in the pole when packing away.

The pole has genuinely had very little use and you won’t need to buy any spares as there are several top4’s, 3’s, power kits and a cupping kit.

Email me if you’re interested as the pole is a bargain even with the repaired No 7 as the spares package is considerable and the pole is immaculate.
