im about to purchase a new top end pole, im sold on garbolino G10, cant believe airity could be nearly a grand better? Any good/bad feedback on G10? Im a mainly commercial angler, quite a few good doubles to be landed, is the G10 up to it?

the garbo g10 is a cracking bit of kit, i use the tourney pro but if you are going to buy a top end pole then i dont think you could find a bad one! they are all suited to different individuals though, i went for the t pro coz of its balance at longer lengths and strength, i have seen the g10 take some serious abuse on commercials though!

got a tourney pro my self and never seen how you could get any better?

had a hold of some ones G10 last week and its brilliant, much stiffer then my pro and much better balanced. been told its heavier than the pro but i couldnt feel it myself although i did only have hold for 5 mins

if i was buying a pole now its the only one i would buy

I’m going through smae process, so heres what I have discovered.

Garbo G10 or Tourney Pro – The bizz on commercials, both strong and powerful. however of you do good percentage of river/silver fish fishing then there are possibly better (lighter) options:-

Maver (either of the Elites or the new 401)

              Daiwa Spectron M2

              Preston 2G10 or GIS12

The dark horse is the Drennan Zircon, has received rave reviews and excellent feedback on the forums but its hard to get hold of one for a comparison test.

I’m still deliberating, but because I do alot of fishing on natural venues I am swaying towards the Drennan or possibly a Maver as the Speccy M2 is receiving a mixed bag of comments.

Sorry its a bit rambling but hope it helps.

Some might say I am biased but I will guarantee the G10 will not let you down on commercials…….. Not going to dis any other pole, just give you my opinion on the G10 which I have used all summer…..Brilliant !!!!

thanks for the help, made my mind up, getting garb G 10, the best pole i held was the zircon, it was very light, amazing finish, but i just didnt think it felt strong enough for my kind of fishing, my G 10 comes friday.

have a look at the newest fox envoy – its meant to be reyt good for silvers and carp alike – top kits are mega expensive though
